6 hours...

Today we helped some friends move.  They have a gorgeous new home and I am so thrilled for them!  I was also incredibly thrilled to be able to help them with the move. 

Nana and Papa came over to take care of the boys, and Kevin and I were gone from 12 noon to about 6:30.  That, I believe, is the longest I have been away from Rocky since the days that he was in the NICU.  I was a little nervous to leave him for that long, because he has been really Mommy Mommy lately, but thankfully, it went great!  I think it helped that Nana and Papa were watching him here at our house, and also that it WAS them, whom he knows quite well, but still...I was thankful! 

I'm thankful on several levels, really.  It was a blessing to be able to help these dear friends of ours...they have really been there for us through the years.  I ended up cleaning both of the bathrooms at their old house, and I was on my own.  I just turned on the music on my phone and listened and cleaned and enjoyed the solitude.  It was really quite nice!  Then, once we loaded up boxes, drove to their new house and unloaded I ended up cleaning upstairs by myself again.  Again, the silence was kind of nice.  I had time to myself to think, and the methodical motions of cleaning a house that is still basically an empty canvas was really enjoyable.

Another thing that I am thankful for, is that Rocky did that well for that long.  See, he is starting daycare in January, and I have been pretty nervous about it.  I have wondered how he will do, and what it will be like to be away from him for so long.  I know I shouldn't wonder, because I have been through this before with Rusty, but Rusty was older when we put him into full time daycare and also...I don't know.  Rocky might be my last baby!  It sort of makes it harder in some ways.  Seeing that he did so great for six hours was refreshing and helped me to know-as my head and my husband and my friends have been telling me for awhile-that he will probably be okay.
