Weekend Away

Kev and I made the trek down to Seattle this past weekend. We just needed to get away together and enjoy some great baseball, a little pampering in the form of an amazing hotel, and some good food and shopping. I always love any kind of trip with my hubby, so Saturday morning found me pretty excited to hit the road and get on our way!
Some of the highlights:

We went to two Mariners' games. The first was Saturday night. We were able to find Kev a good deal on some appropriate Mariners gear, and we were off to the game. Unfortunately, the score was 6-0 for the Royals before we even found our seats! They lost and it was COLD, but we snuggled our way through it, and even got to see the Mariner Moose! I especially enjoyed the famous garlic fries! Luckily, Kev had them too!

Sunday's game was a different story! The Mariners' pitcher, a guy from Korea whose name I can't remember, was amazing! He had a perfect game going through the first five innings and we got to watch the Mariners win. The sun was also beating down on us, which makes for a perfect ball game. We had seats in the upper deck and even got a bit of a sunburn! If you know me, you know that I grew up watching baseball all summer long, every summer. One of the best feelings is sitting in the sun, eating sunflower seeds or hotdogs, and hearing the sounds of a baseball game going on around me. When I was in university, I moved from one dorm to another in my second year. Once Spring arrived, I realized how much I loved living in Pierson Hall. The reason? Every afternoon I could hear the crack of the bat smacking the ball into the outfield as the baseball team practiced. The field was not too far away from my hall. It reminded me that summer-and baseball-was on the way again.

We also pampered ourselves-especially me-with a fantastic hotel room! If you ever get the chance, stay at the Silver Cloud Inn. It was fantastic! Our room had the biggest Jacuzzi I have ever seen-honestly Mom, it was like two of yours put together, as well as a fireplace and king-sized bed. The next morning when we went down for the continental breakfast, we found incredible delights, such as a waffle bar, waiting for us! It was the best hotel breakfast I have ever had-excluding my European hotel breakfasts...chocolate crossaints in Paris simply can't be beat! On Sunday morning we had a lot of time to just relax before we had to leave for the game. It felt so luxurious to simply lounge around with nothing specific to get done!

The weekend was amazing, exactly what we needed. I came home feeling emotionally refreshed, something I hadn't been able to say in weeks. We laughed a lot, snuggled even more, and really enjoyed just being together without any other distractions. My sweetie was amazing, and made sure that my every need was met and my every wish was granted. I love you, Kev! Thanks for such an amazing weekend! You hit this one out of the park!
