I know. It has been a long time since I posted. I am not done with blogging, I promise, it's just been busy! We have spent more time outside, gone away for a weekend together, worked on the house, and just hung out with friends. I'm finding that in the midst of all of these good things I just don't have time for the Internet. I have to be honest, I don't really mind. I know that I waste a lot of time browsing around on here, especially that time sucking place known as Facebook. Kev and I were off celebrating our anniversary this weekend in Whistler, and didn't really get on the Internet except once to check out something we wanted to do. I came home and found that I didn't really want to get back on. My life had gone on without constantly checking status updates or pictures. I missed a few blog posts from friends, but it wasn't the end of the world! Life goes on...and I felt, well, less stressed. Less busy. More like myself, more in touch with my husband. I liked it.
I didn't like it enough to never go on Facebook again. Unlike many other people, I happen to think that Facebook is a gift, especially for someone like me that lives far away from a lot of friends and family. I did realize, however, that I can definitely live with spending less time on there. I also can live with fewer blog posts and relatively no browsing around! It was great!
So, I will be posting in the future, but I have to be brutally honest, I'm enjoying a bit of a break. Look for me next week. We are hoping to attempt to possibly potty train the wee one. I'm not all IT MUST HAPPEN OR ELSE, but I do plan to stick around very close to home for the week, so I might have a bit of extra time on my hands...or maybe I will just be doing A LOT of laundry!

We're going to try in August after Jason's family comes. Good luck with your attempt. I don't think this attempt (ours) will actually work, but it's worth a shot :)
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to have a break from the internet. I couldn't give up facebook forever, even if it is a time sucker. Gotta keep in touch with the far away friends :)
However, I haven't watched tv in months! Well...except for RJ's shows :) I don't really miss tv.
I might attempt to potty train J as well. To be honest, it didn't really even cross my mind until a friend pointed out that J has been showing all the signs. She has even gone on her potty a few times without my encouragement. Another friend tried the 'potty train your child in 3 days.' (there is a link on babycentre) Her daughter was a bit young so she'll try it again in another couple of months since she had about 50% success rate. I'm like you...if it works, great....if not, that's okay too! I've heard so many stories of kids just starting all by themselves. Now I just have to find time to stay home for 3 days! Hope we can fit a visit in soon though!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right for recognizing that life before internet is soothing. I hear ya about the need to constantly check updates and such. Funny how much time you could spend on this thing just looking and getting lost.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I wanted to thank you for your nice comment about my journey to a healthier me. You really have a great handle on life and what's important, which is why I do like reading your posts :)
Good luck on potty training! You'll have to let me know how it goes :)
