What can I get for you?

I admit it, I'm an addict. I can't help it! It began about three years ago when I left my home of 22 years and moved across the country to California. It all started innocently...a little trip here and there. At first I didn't even know what to order. I would order directly off of the menu...not even knowing that I could specialize my order. All I knew was that I could change it from tall to grande or venti. Once I moved up here, it became even more of an obsession. I can get it on every corner...sometimes on both corners. I know how to specialize my order now and get exactly what I want. Yep, you guessed it; I'm an official Starbucks addict.

I know that it's a guilty pleasure...I know that I can make my own coffee at home for less than half of what I pay there, and I often do. I just have to say this, it just isn't the same. I can't help it, those green letters beckon to me. I am still far from being a Starbuck's aficionado, but I DO know what I like now, and I also know how to specialize it. I don't mind indulging in my secret addiction every once in awhile.

My go-to drink is the grande, non-fat, 1/2 sweet, no-whip peppermint mocha with extra sprinkles...let's not forget the sprinkles! Oh yeah, and I like it extra hot. I order that drink regularly...so regularly, in fact, that my good friend at school has the order down. She knows without even asking what I want to drink. I also know her favourite order without asking! If it's warm outside, I LOVE the grande Caramel Light Frappucino. It's so yummy! When I'm looking for something warm without caffiene, I like to go for the grande, non-fat, sugar free vanilla steamed milk...that's extra hot as well. I have tried to make these at home...I even have the sugar free vanilla syrup-purchased at half price thanks to Leanna-but it just doesn't taste the same!

I figure it's okay to have this little addiction...I know I'm not the only one! I don't actually have even one a week, but when I do have a lovely Starbucks creation, I enjoy it! I wonder which drink I will indulge in tonight?

  2. When I was home over Xmas many billboards had Starbucks advertisements, and suddenly I had a craving for the above mentioned peppermint mocha, since that was the drink of the season...it was yummy!

There is a little coffee place just around the corner from my apartment, and when I was working on my thesis last summer, I would go over there almost every day to get a cappuccino to go....tasted waaay better than what I could make, plus it was a good break.

The price is worth the experience!

And about a year ago they finally opened Starbucks at multiple locations here in Cologne!

  3. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that feels justified in spending the money for a little taste of heaven! Nicole, I have tried the new Cinnamon Dolce Latte, it's okay, but not like the Java City lattes! :) Oh, Java City Boy...

  4. Hear, hear! Venti Vanilla Cream Steamer is my favorite. I don't like coffee, so I don't like anything else really, so I never venture away from this drink choice, but at least that makes it easy! I never have to make a decision!
