I'm enjoying my break. The sun has been out! This makes the world seem like a better place. I can't say that I am particularly enjoying the sun, because I am still in my pajamas at 12:30, but it is out, and there is something to be said for that. If I wanted to, I could be lounging in the sun on White Pine Beach or something. I'm not quite to that point in my summer break yet.
What have I been doing? Let me catch you up on my thrilling, overly exciting life!
- We went to Keats for two days. I guess you already know that if you read my blog but hey, it was pretty great.
- I have stayed in my pajamas until at least 11 a.m. each day since returning from Keats. There is something magical about that...I don't know what it is but I think it has something to do with the fact that I usually get ready in about 20 minutes on a normal day.
- I have worked out! Yes, each day I have worked out! I think this is because I do not have to squish my workout into the tiny space between the time I get home from work and the time that I make dinner. I have an entire big, wide open day with which to work out. This means that I have also done BETTER workouts, including weight lifting!
- I have watched mindless television. It's amazing how much time you can waste watching The Learning Channel, and TBS, and Slice. It's also wonderful to NOT have to really think.
- I finished "A Mighty Heart." Whew! Quite the book. It was hard to get through some points but now I really want to see the movie. This woman has courage. I cannot imagine waiting and wondering where my husband is, only to find out he has been kidnapped by terrorists and then to discover he has been murdered. It makes me thankful that Kevin is a teacher!
- I visited a student that is in the hospital. She was in a pretty serious car crash about a week ago and at one point they were afraid they might lose her. She's an amazing young lady, and it did my heart a world of good to see her smiling and talking. Keep praying for her though...she's got some major rehab ahead of her.
- I have spent insane amounts of time on the Internet. What am I doing? Facebook...yep, that's right...it has gripped me with its sticky tentacles and won't let go!
- I have decompressed. It's been a tough couple of months in many ways, also very busy. My brain was on warp speed, as well as my body. It's nice to just let it all go. I'm still working on that.
- I have thought about all of the things I want to do this summer: go to the beach, walk the seawall, read a couple of books, finish at least one course for my certification, go for a bike ride, run a couple of times a week, get in touch with my family, plan some fun outings, go to Whistler, go to a baseball game, head to the States for some shopping, get back up to Keats, deep clean my house, sleep in as often as I can, practice tennis, hike the Grouse Grind, visit at least one place in my province that I haven't yet been to, go shopping in Oregon, camping and tried to figure out how I will accomplish all of them in such a short time!
So, I guess I have actually done quite a bit the last few days! I think it's about time I got out of my pjs and headed to the gym...I don't want to break my trend! If anyone is interested in any of those activities...let me know! Let's go!
