Lacy's Visit To Canada

Lacy J arrived in Canada last Friday night. It was wonderful to see her and give her a big hug. Actually, I picked her up in Seattle...over an hour late. Darn border. It holds me up every time I'm trying to head down to the States to meet friends or family. She didn't seem to mind, though. She was happy with her Starbucks and book.

Since traffic was insane, we started the night off with a scrumptious little dinner at the Olive Garden near SeaTac. I honestly think that the last time I ate there was over a year ago when Seren and I took our hubbies there for dinner so they could meet for the first time. Wow...a lot has happened in that friendship over a year! The dinner was great! It was so good to just sit and talk with Lacy. We couldn't even remember the last time that it was just the two of us hanging out and talking together.

Saturday morning dawned gloriously. The sun was out in full force and it was even kind of warm so I decided to take Lacy J to one of my favorite places, the Stanley Park Seawall. We picked up a Pepppermint Mocha-seeing a theme here?-and went for a nice, long walk. I am so happy that she loved the seawall as much as I do!

Sunday we took off on a ferry. When I was driving Lacy up to Canada from SeaTac, I asked her what she wanted to do while she was here. The only thing she wanted to do was ride a ferry! She didn't even care where it was going, she just wanted to ride one! So, on Sunday, we first went out for a late breakfast at Denny's and then we went to Horseshoe Bay to hop the ferry to Langdale. The plan was to ride the ferry there, get off, get back on, and ride the ferry home! Neither Kevin nor I had ever ridden the ferry just to ride it before, but we enjoyed it. It was kind of nice to not have to lug a cooler, suitcase, and who knows what else along with us! I know that Lacy enjoyed it, but next time we hope to take her all the way to Keats!

I had a great weekend just talking with my buddy from long ago. She has been there for me through thick and thin, and I for her. It was a wonderful gift and great blessing to spend an uninterrupted weekend just hanging out with her. Lacy J, I love you my friend!!!
