Thanksgiving

It's Thanksgiving weekend in Canada. I have to admit...for the past five years I haven't celebrated it that whole-heartedly. It still doesn't feel like Thanksgiving to me...Thanksgiving is in November and it is a HUGE holiday and the whole family celebrates together...at least that's what my American Thanksgivings were like.

This year however? I found that I was looking forward to Thanksgiving for several reasons. The first reason is that Kevin gets a day off of work to be at home with Rusty and I. That's a huge bonus! Secondly, I am starting to like the idea of having two opportunities to celebrate my thankfulness. Thirdly, I realized that today was Thanksgiving Sunday at church...I always love that service, as it is an opportunity to see how thankful people are for various things in their lives.

So, here it is, my thankful list...(it's just a small portion of all that I am thankful for...I could go on and on!)
1. My Savior, Jesus! I am so thankful to have a real relationship with him...I'm so blessed.
2. My incredible husband...I'm thankful that our relationship has only gotten better with the addition of our son. He is an incredible dad, yet I am thankful that we still find time to be a couple and enjoy our time together. He makes me laugh, he supports me, he is a constant encouragement to me...I love him so much.
3. Our beautiful son. We have prayed long and hard for him, and continue to do so every day. He is already bringing incredible joy into our lives, and I can't imagine life without him! It's amazing to see him change and grow each day, and I look forward to the years of seeing the little boy, then young man that he will become.
4. My family, they are wonderful. Even when I'm not so good at keeping in touch, they faithfully keep in touch with me. I get my daily emails from my mom, I get phone messages, I get pictures sent. They bless me, even from afar.
5. Our friends! Wow, our friends are such a blessing to us. They are more than friends, they are family. With the birth of Rusty, we realized how blessed we are to have so many wonderful people in our lives...meals were sent, people came and helped clean and took care of Rusty so I could get a nap, they provided baby stuff for us, they provide conversation and fun times out and so many things. We are surrounded by an incredible group of people that we definitely don't take for granted...I can't even list all of you, but hopefully you know who you are!
6. My freedom...even though times are getting tough both here and in the States, I am still thankful to live in a country that has freedom. I love being able to worship my God, I love being able to state my opinions without fear. We are blessed to live where we do.
7. My bathtub! I know that this seems silly, but I waited FOUR YEARS to have a bathtub! I appreciate it so much! I am so thankful to be able to shave my legs without contorting my body.

There is much more for which to be thankful, but I really need to get to the gym! I'm thankful for that too! I'm feeling back to myself, and ready to workout...woohoo! (I never thought I would say woohoo about working out...my, my things change!)
