Happy Birthday to You!

What a difference a year makes! Today is my love's birthday and we celebrated it in the same manner that we always do! Every year we go out to Denny's for the free birthday meal. Last year little Rusty was just a week old when we ventured out for Kevin's birthday dinner. We were reminiscing about that meal today. Look how tired Kevin looks! He recalls ordering coffee-for the first time ever in a restaurant-and downing it with lots of cream and sugar. Our little man slept through the entire meal and we went right home afterward!

Today was a bit different! We made our way down to Denny's and Rusty was not so little anymore! At one year and one week old, he is an animated, hilarious, independent little man! He ate pancakes, puffs, and bananas. He was not sleepy at all-he'd just woken up from his nap-and he kept us entertained with his funny faces!

In the last year, Kevin has definitely changed! He has become a better husband and an amazing father. He listens to me. He helps out. He knows Rusty and his schedule as well or better than I do. He loves getting up in the mornings with Rusty and feeding him, playing with him, and just enjoying the smiles. He doesn't mind changing poopy diapers! He still has great conversations with me that don't simply revolve around Rusty. He is a good son to his parents. He cares about them and tries his best to be there for them. He has learned the value of family and how important it is to have relationships that matter in your life. He's a good man, and we are thankful that we got to celebrate another year of his life with him! We're looking forward to seeing what this year brings! Happy birthday Love!
