Making Friends

I have learned that life is much better when lived in the company of good friends.  I am incredibly blessed to have many wonderful friendships in my life.  I'm constantly amazed at the way God intricately winds my life with that of another and suddenly, I have a new friend!

Knowing this, it has been one of my greatest joys in life to see my sweet boy make friends as well.  Okay, maybe they are still friendships that I arrange for him at this point, but sometimes, as I watch him playing with other kids I think, "Will this little munchkin be one of my sweet boy's best friends as he grows up?"

Rusty is blessed to be surrounded by great friends already.  We have many friends that have great kids, and I can only hope that he will make connections with them as he grows older.

This week has been full of friendships!  Yesterday we made the drive out to Abbotsford to meet up with my good friend and her two munchkins.  I still remember the day her beautiful daughter was born, and I can hardly believe that she is now three and we have little boys that are just months apart in age!  He had a great time with these guys.  Their house is full of fun and of course Rusty always enjoys playing with new toys!

He kept his eye on these two, watching what they did and trying to copy them.  I love watching him interact with other kids.  He is a gentle soul, I am discovering, and likes to sit back and see what's happening before jumping in...much like his mommy!

Today was a very fun day!  We loaded up and drove over to my friend C's house.  She is someone I met through our couple's Bible study and she is quickly becoming a dear friend.  We have much in common-our little guys being just one of the many-and we decided to team up for a run today!  I was particularly excited, as it was my first run in over a year.  My knee made it!  It only started to hurt at the very end, which encourages me for the future.  I hope that she and I can meet up again soon, us in our matching Lulu pants and Bob strollers!  After our run we gave the boys some time to play outside and boy did they have fun...especially bumping up and down in their little green wagon!

Finally, it was lunchtime.  I think there are few things cuter than two sweet boys all bibbed up and ready to eat.  They did a good job chowing down the chicken and noodles, veggies...not so much!  Good thing we are masters of deception!  We got those veggies in...we're so sneaky!

I'm thankful for friends, and thankful for friends for Rusty.  I look forward to seeing how his relationship with these kiddos grows through the years.
