I must take a moment to post a short thank you to my wonderful, amazing, caring in-laws, without whom I would be a total disaster. I am very, very pregnant. I am very, very tired. I have a very sick little boy at home, and a sick husband as well. The sick little boy has been up a lot the last three nights. I think over the past three days I have had about 12 hours of sleep TOTAL. That is definitely not enough for a pregnant lady that could go into labour at any time.
My last labour was very long and very exhausting. I remember it well. I don't know for sure that it will be very long again this time, but I have not forgotten how tired I was. I am fearful of heading into labour as tired as I feel right now. This is where my wonderful in-laws come in. Today they took Rusty the entire day so that I could get some rest. I had a doctor's appointment, and they took him for the morning and then said they would keep him through his nap. They ended up keeping him until after Kevin got off of work at 5. After dropping him off this morning I went back home and slept, then went to my doctor's appointment, and spent the rest of the afternoon doing nothing, and sleeping a little more. I really, really needed that. Rusty came home happy and well cared for, telling me all of the fun things he had done with Nana and Papa. It helps a bit with my mommy guilt. Right now I'm feeling that "I'm such a bad mom" feeling because I am sooo tired and so unable to have the energy to play everything that Rusty wants to play. I often try to convince him to read a book or do playdoh, things that don't require me to move much. I know that today he got to play hockey in the basement, read books, do puzzles and all of the other fun things that Nana and Papa do with him.
So, Mom and Dad S, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Although I am still tired, and I am sure that this is going to be another long night, I think I would not have made it today without your love and care. Another thank you to my sweet Seren, who dropped off a tea for me this afternoon, driving all the way from Langley just to do this one thing for me. I am truly loved and cared for.
