Dolphins and Jellyfish...Oh My!

Yesterday was my first TRUE ADVENTURE out and about with the two boys.  Well, my two plus two others plus two other moms!  Kev has been away in Vegas with a good buddy, and on Tuesday night his friend's wife came to stay over.  She is a dear friend of mine and her son is just about 6 months younger than Rusty.  They are great friends and always play really well together.  She and her little guy had a sleepover-staying in my newly refurbished guest room...more on that later!-and on Wednesday morning we decided to do something fun with our little guys.

We had planned on the aquarium for awhile, and our other friend from our Bible study decided to come along with her little guy as well.  Three moms and four little guys.  It was pretty hilarious!  It took two cars to get down to the aquarium with all of our stuff.  Who knew you needed so much stuff??  We also decided to go to the aquarium on a day when about 1000 other people were there as well.  Okay, I don't truly know how many people were there, but because it is Spring Break around here the place was packed out.  As we approached the door we ALMOST turned around to go back, but decided to give it a shot.  Although it was crazy inside, it was totally worth it.  The boys loved it!  They were enamored by the various fish in the massive aquariums and the dolphin tank was the absolute HIT of the day!  They kept talking about how the dolphins swam right past them!  Just a little insight into how much they truly loved it:  My son loves few things more than a grilled cheese sandwich and apple slices from McDonald's.  I know, I know...bad parents, but he loves it!  Something about those golden arches!  Anyway, when we were done at the aquarium we all agreed that McDonald's it would be.  I told Rusty, "Rusty!  It is time to go...we're going to go to McDonald's!"

His response?  "I don't want to go to McDonald's!  I want to stay here and see the dolphins more!"  It's a hit!

We had a great time and I managed with my two little guys.  Of course it helped to have my friends along, but I realized that I actually could get out and about with them and even have fun doing it!  Rocky was a total rock star and happily smiled the morning away from the Baby Bjorn.  He's such a happy little guy.  Like I've said before...I'm blessed!

Enjoying the first grouping of fish with about 20 other people!

  1. You are one brave lady heading to the Aquarium for your first outing with the boys!! I might have suggested a playground or something tame like that! :D It looks like you guys had a great time - keep loving it! At 5 and 3 years old for us, it's still as wonderful as the first few months, and I can't wait to add another bundle to this little family of ours - it just gets better and better! :)
