8 years strong

Today is our eight year anniversary!  Eight years!  We are edging closer to that double digit mark and I couldn't be happier about it.  I could spend this post talking about all of the things I love about my hubby, but you have heard me do that a lot.  Instead I will show just how in sync we truly are based upon what we did today.  We lesson planned.  Yep, that's right, we planned lessons...on our FIRST true day of summer vacation.

Kev is teaching summer school and the session starts tomorrow.  He is doing Math 8 and English 8 this year.  He has done Math 8 twice before so he was really good with what he had there, but English 8?  Not so much.

We had planned to go golfing today, but our beautiful BC weather put a stop to that.  Oh, did I say beautiful???  Sorry, I meant...well, we will just leave it at that.  I try really hard not to complain in my day to day life.

Anyway, with the boys in daycare-we had to maintain two days a week throughout the summer to keep their spots-and our days sort of free now that golfing was out we decided to spend the day planning out Kev's English 9 lessons for the entire summer session.

After a quick run to my school to grab some resources from my classroom I met Kev at Cactus Club for a tasty anniversary lunch-try to fish tacos and bellini, amazing-we trekked back to his classroom and went to work.  Three hours later we had organized, detailed bliss.  Between the two of use we typed up a lesson plan for each day, organized out the work for the novel study, and placed everything into a binder by day with all of the resources he needed at hand and ready for photocopying on that day.  It will be easy peasy for him to teach each day with everything so handy.  We even set up the LCD projector to make sure that it worked with my Macbook, which he will be using.

The funniest thing is that it didn't even bother me that this is what we were doing with our anniversary.  At one point I did tell Kev he was lucky he had a teacher for a wife, because it was only that way could we spend our anniversary doing that and have it be okay and something I kind of enjoy!

We DO plan to hopefully have a little getaway at some point this summer, maybe in August if we can work out the childcare!  One overnight somewhere would be bliss...I can't remember the last time that the two of us got away together, just us.

Happy 8th Anniversary to us!  I wish I had thought to take a picture of that neat, tidy little English 8 binder I helped him create today!
