I do feel a little bad for Kevin though. My flip flopping at night due to sore hips has been keeping him awake. Since he teaches summer school he has to actually get up in the mornings, and has been feeling the lack of sleep a bit. He never complains to me though! What a sweetie!
We did a lot of shopping last week! We were feeling a bit unprepared, and now we have all that we need for changing, for bathing, I'm working on getting blankets and stuff washed up, and we ordered our basic stroller, our bassinet/playyard, and car seat protectors. We have the car seat ready to install, and we are heading to the car seat clinic put on by BCAA this Thursday at Babies R Us. They will make sure that it is installed properly-we are hyper first time parents!
We love this baby so much! Kevin has taken to talking to the baby quite a bit, and I often laugh at the cute things he has to say! We are excited, but also a little scared, about the next step...the birth! We feel prepared from our prenatal class, yet you just never know what to expect! We will see! We could have six weeks left if I go overdue, so we're not getting too stressed yet.
The exciting news is that we are now the owners of a cottage! We were able to get our own cottage, right next door to Kevin's parents. We went up this weekend and spent the entire Saturday afternoon cleaning...I'm talking the entire afternoon. We started around 3:30 and ended at 9:30! It was sooooo tiring! We washed out all of the kitchen cupboards, washed and sorted all of the dishes, washed and cleaned both bedrooms, the living room, and the bathroom. It's now rental ready. Since I'm not going to be heading to Keats after this weekend due to the fact that it would be so far from the hospital, we are hoping to rent it out in August. If you're interested contact me. I won't be using it because I don't want to deliver on an island!
This weekend we saw what would happen if I did go into labour there! A person on the other side of the island broke his leg quite badly and they brought in the helivac! It was crazy! It landed just on the other side of the road from the cottage and actually blew dirt in through the windows with the force! We also saw a hoover craft! They had to bring that in to bring him around the island and load him in to the helicopter! It was quite the event on the island. Everyone was out to watch and the little kids were pretty excited about seeing all of those big machines at work!
I leave you with a few pictures. The first is a front view of our little cottage. We love it! It's going to be great to utilize it more next summer. The next picture is, of course, the 36 week shot. It was cold and rainy here today, so I'm actually wearing jeans for the first time in a long time! I enjoy the weather, of course! I hope to sleep well with that cool breeze tonight!
