Moving

I forgot how much I hate the process of moving. For awhile there, it seemed I was moving every year. Basically from the year I graduated-1998-to the year I got married-2004-I moved every year. It was either to a different dorm room, a new apartment, a new state, and even a new country. I remember when we moved in to this basement suite, I was happy to know that I would be in one place for awhile.

We have stayed for just over four years! Our landlords have been wonderful, but we find it is time to move on. No, we aren't buying a house, the timing is not right for us. We have found a great new suite though. It's on a cul-de-sac, which I am thrilled about! That means no more fire trucks and police cars flying down the roads at 2 a.m. It has a massive kitchen! The kitchen is actually as big as my parents' kitchen back home...and the dishwasher is IN the kitchen! I know, that seems like a given, but when we moved in to this place it didn't have one. We bought one, but the only place they had room to install it was in the laundry room. For four years, we have carried our dishes from the kitchen into the laundry room and back. I'm not complaining, because I'm glad just to have a dishwasher, but I have to admit that it will be nice to have it right next to the sink!

The new place also has a bathtub! This will be heaven! I am normally a shower girl, but sometimes you just need a nice, long soak in a hot bath. I could have used it several times throughout the pregnancy, and I can't tell you how much I look forward to it. It will also be great once Rusty gets bigger and doesn't really fit in his baby bathtub any more.

Another thing? It is very close to some of our good friends. I look forward to heading down to see her and her boys without it being a big hassle.

However, in order to get to this place, we have to pack. Our official moving day is Saturday, and we knew we were moving a long time ago. We actually spent a lot of time this summer packing up the stuff we didn't need right away. We also did a MAJOR sort and got rid of all of the stuff we hadn't used in four years. We still have a lot to pack though. Our goal is to do one room each night, but it is already 7:20 and here we sit...hmm...I wonder if we will actually get the room on the agenda done tonight.

I guess I should stop blogging and start packing...here's hoping the move goes well!
