Polar Opposites

What a difference a few days can make! I feel like I am at the polar opposite of where I was at when I began my last post. I have really been thinking and rejoicing in all of the good and wonderful things God has put in my life lately. Kevin was laughing at me tonight when we were talking in bed before he hit the hay. Usually we fall asleep together but for some reason tonight I'm just overflowing with joy and happiness and he said,"You're a goof but you're cute and I love you." Awww!

Things that are making me a goof!

• Our trip to Keats this weekend was AMAZING! We had a special surprise when our friends that were using our cabin before we arrived ended up missing their ferry-long story, right Laura?-and had to stay an extra night. It ended up being such a blessing because we got to spend good time with them, including dinner on the deck, late night Monopoly, and milk and cookies! It was fun to finally get together as two families and realize how well we clicked. This was followed by two great days just relaxing and truly enjoying our cabin for the first time. Finally, on Monday some of our best friends came up for the day and it was just great! We ate good food, played cards, sat on the deck, watched the kids play, rode in the boat, fished and just had a great time together. We are so thankful for the beautiful place that we have and for the great friends God has put in our life! We are especially thankful for Rusty's Nana and Papa, who made the wonderful place a reality and also cleaned up our dinner when we had to make a mad dash for the ferry! Oh, and we are thankful for Nana's blackberry pie. You have not tasted pie until you have tasted her fresh blackberry pie...it's a little piece of heaven on Earth.


• Today the joy continued. I had a chance to get together with my friend Nancy for the entire day. Our friendship goes back six years...she was one of the first people to befriend me when I moved to Canada, was a bridesmaid in our wedding and really was my sanity for the first year or more. She is a tender heart, a Godly woman, a good listener, and a great shopping buddy! We went shopping in the States for some much needed fall clothes. I had forgotten how much I love just talking to her, and laughing with her, and sharing our hearts together. She is also my best shopping buddy, as she is honest and knows what looks good and tells me. We found some great deals and I came home feeling really happy with all of my purchases, but even happier with the joy of spending the day with Nancy.


• My little sis. She called me tonight and we had a great, long chat. It was so good and I love when we can have those nice talks. They don't happen often enough, but when they do they mean the world to me. She's a new mom too, and it is fun to help each other out, to encourage each other, and to just enjoy it together. She's doing a great job and her little girl is a doll. I miss them terribly.


• My cousins! They arrive for a week long visit on Friday. I am so excited that I just want Friday to be here! We are going to have so much fun with them. I can't wait for a week of uninterrupted time with them.


• My hubby and son. Oh man, they just light up every day that I live. Their smiles, their laughter, seeing them together. I love my boys, they fill my life with unspeakable joy.
• My God. He is good. He has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams. He fills my life with joy and makes it worth living. He is merciful, kind. I love him with my whole heart!


• My ROCKIN new jeans! They are hot and I feel great in them! I can't wait to wear them with my super cute $90 on sale to $40 new black shoes!!! HOT diggity dog!
