It's Mother's Day. This is a day that I never take for granted, I look at my precious babes and just thank the Lord that I get the wonderful opportunity to be their mother. Mother's Day hasn't always been an easy day for me. One in particular brought more heartache than joy. Less than a month earlier I had lost my first baby, and my heart simply broke on that day that came along.
Last Mother's Day I was in South Dakota for my little brother's graduation from university! I was able to be with my own mom for the first time in years on that day. We took her out for breakfast, and it was kind of wonderful to be able to wish her a Happy Mother's Day in person. Meanwhile, that day I was feeling incredibly sick, and wondering if I was possibly pregnant. I arrived home and took a test, and I was...with this little ball of joy. Isn't he wonderful?
My two boys are such a wonderful blessing in my life. Every single night I go in and check on them before I head to bed myself. I look at them and smile and my heart fills up with incredible joy and thankfulness. I absolutely love those sweet boys.
My boys surprised me today with my very own Canucks' jersey! As the boys in blue move further into the playoffs I hope I will have more and more chances to wear it...maybe even at a game??? Who knows! I LOVE it...it's the perfect gift!
Happy Mother's Day...to my mom, my mother-in-law, my sisters, and to all of those I know that wish to be mothers as well. I remember that heartache from Mother's Day past...my prayers are that those wonderful women in my life that are wishing to be mothers will see that dream realized by next Mother's Day!
