My friend Michelle over at So Wonderful, So Marvelous is doing a monthly post of Five Things I Love Right Now. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to do my own again this month. I think it is fun to think about what is making my life more fun, easier, and more calm.
Five things I love right now...
1. McDonald's Coffee. The stuff is actually pretty good. I take mine as a medium with two milks. It works in a pinch when I haven't had time to clean my coffee maker in a million years and I don't want to pay the big price tag attached to Starbucks. I only really like the fun drinks at Starbucks anyway. The other thing I love about McDonald's coffee? I can easily get it in the drive thru, meaning that I don't have to take the kiddos out of the car. BLISS.
2. The Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Clinic at UBC and especially Dr. Navin Prasad. I have been dealing with pretty intense pain in my knee for about six years now. I had previously been referred to a different knee specialist TWICE that basically reduced me to tears because of his lack of interest in my case and his basic dismissal of my pain (mainly, I believe, due to the fact that I am young.) Today I went to the UBC sports medicine clinic and saw this amazing doctor. Not only was he incredibly kind and made me feel like my appointment was the only one that he had for the entire day, but he also gave me a thorough examination and took me seriously. I will be having an MRI soon to see if we can figure out what is going on and what has been causing this pain for the past six years! Another bonus is that because the sports clinic is in direct relation with the UBC Hospital my MRI will already be in January, rather than the normal really long wait that can be experienced here in Canada.
3. My Glasslock series of containers that I bought at Costco. They are amazing! They are totally glass with these wonderful lids that click on. They are the perfect size for all of our needs. I now only wish I had bought two of them! They have a new pack with different sizes that I think I am going to have to get and I will be able to throw out all of those old ziploc containers. They aren't healthy for me to microwave in, or things like that.
4. Yoga. I love yoga. I have started up with it again-finally!-and I really love it. It makes me stronger and more flexible. When I go to a class I always feel tired and worn out, but come home feeling refreshed and strong. I only wish I could go to more classes!
5. Fall. This fall is unlike any others that I have seen in BC. It reminds me of fall back home. It is all crisp, cool air, orange, yellow and red leaves crunching beneath my feet, glaring sunshine beating down through my car windows. Yes indeed, this fall is one for the record books!
