this week

So here we go...my first weekly reflection. I hope I can keep up with these. Being able to post from my phone certainly helps, yay for BlogPress!

What I'm hoping to do is to ask the boys for a highlight each week, as well as something they learned at school and a random fact. Then I will post at least one pic of them and my own thoughts. Here we go!!

Rusty
Highlights this week:
1. Swimming at the aquatic centre with two classmates after school on Friday. He came home and said "Mommy that was sooooo fun!"
2. Having electronics in the morning. We usually don't let him do that but Mommy is on her own with all three kids from Friday until Tuesday morning and I desperately needed just a wee bit more sleep this morning. So, electronics in the morning!!!
School Highlight:
1. Playing tag at recess. He has a great group of buddies and apparently tag is their new thing. They even play with their eyes closed!!
One Random Thing:
1. He is excited for the Super Bowl. He LOVES sports and the Seahawks are his favourite team.
2. He was happy to get a smiley face for behaviour! While Kev is away we have a chart for behaviour report. At the end of the day they either get a smiley face or a frown face. All smiles mean they get a special prize from Dad on his return!
My own thoughts:
A moment that I really enjoyed with Rusty this week happened in the car on the way to school. He was telling me all about his Just Right Reading book. He chose one about Titanic and it was so interesting to see all of the information he had soaked up. He was telling me so many facts and asking me a lot of questions about it as well. I love having these intelligent conversations with my sweet boy. He said "Too bad the captain didn't listen and kept the boat gong too fast!"

Rocky
Highlight:
1. Getting a box full of cars! A family from our school decided to be done with their Cars Movie characters and gave them all to Rocky. He flipped out! He had to bathe with some, eat snack with some, and sleep with some!!

School:
1. Being with KoKo. This is his best buddy and they always play together. They especially love building things using Lego!
One Random Thing:
I'm working for Waiter Mater!! This is the prize he chose to receive from Daddy if he is good. He is so excited.
My own thoughts: This boy rocks my world. Right now he is excited about being four. He has been working hard to listen and obey and I told him I appreciated it. He said, "That's what four year olds do Mommy!" He also said the same thing when I told him he was eating his dinner really well. Hmmm...I need to milk this four year old thing I think!

Ruby
Now obviously she can't tell me her highlights or anything but I still want to write about her.
This week Ruby got over her first major illness. She had a fever for days and major congestion. Our Ruby is a very happy baby and this week..well not so much. It made my sympathy for parents of colicky babes rise even higher. I was so thrilled when her smiles truly started to return on Thursday. She also started to be able to sleep somewhere other than my arms. Maybe we will even eventually get her sleeping all night again! For now I chose to just enjoy the snuggles although I did have a meltdown on Tuesday morning. A week plus of feverish, whiny, crying kids finally had me hit my limit! We all recovered quickly though and carried on with our day.
Some milestones:
Ruby can now easily roll from back to tummy. She is also extremely smiley and this week discovered herself in the mirror!

Kev:
I have to add a little bit about my man. This man. I can't even express how much I love him. I love our teamwork in marriage and in parenting. He is off this weekend to a much deserved Vegas Super Bowl weekend with his best bud and he left wearing this beauty...we present the Sweatsedo! Sheesh!

Week One, done!
